Jane Turner admits dunes at Hoylake would ONLY be thigh high at most!!

Well, well, well…..I see that Dr. Turner is doing a sneaky U turn on the dune front. (See image).

She is now saying that we will not be getting the kind of sand dunes that we can run barefoot through, with our kids playing hide and seek, whilst we have a secluded picnic in the sheltered hills. Let’s be honest, that is what 99% of people think dunes are, and that is what they were led to believe would form at Hoylake. According to her, this was a bit of confusion on the publics behalf, and all we will be getting, if we’re lucky, are some small sand lumps well away from the sea wall. Confusion on the publics behalf or misinformation by the grass supporters? This change of tack exposes the manipulation being used to hoodwink people into believing that ‘proper’ dunes would form, when it was known all along that this would never happen. Just as an aside, how would these sand lumps protect Hoylake from rising sea levels and storm surges as promised by the grass lovers? Should I answer that, or would I just be getting confused! So, no ‘proper’ dunes, just a few lumps that are no more than thigh high (and even then only if you are vertically challenged or lying down), or perhaps even nothing at all, just marsh. One lump or two, you decide who has been telling the truth all along, and who has been telling porkies………

: Hoylake Beach Community, is a voluntary group who have been asking WBC for

a compromise that will suit all. Our hope is for a section* of the beach to be restored to sand so that residents from across Wirral and beyond can utilise it for recreation and health and well-being purposes. We are asking for a common sense approach for ALL; wildlife, nature & people. The half mile stretch* of amenity beach we would like equates to less than 1% compared to the Wirral shoreline conservation area. There really has to be a balance of human and environmental needs.Hoylake Beach Community are not affiliated with any other group. HBC only use two forms of online communication. This website and a Facebook group which anyone is welcome to request to join. Search Hoylake Beach Community. HBC do not use any other social media. *We are not asking for the whole beach, our compromise is just for the section that runs alongside North Parade from Kings Gap to the RNLI station, with the rest being left to the grasses. We do not support chemicals, only raking. SIGN the petition Click Here DONATE Justgiving account which allows us to continue Click Here SHARE help our cause by sharing on social media - links below.
